We’ve already written that Donald Tusk will eventually „speak PiS-like,” and sooner rather than later. This is starting to get tedious, constantly referencing previous articles on M24 that turned out to be spot-on. Let’s get to the point. Today, as I listened to Prime Minister Tusk presenting his vision for Poland’s EU presidency in the European Parliament, my jaw dropped to the floor. Here was a seemingly right-wing statesman warning the EU’s leftist elites about threats from the East, illegal immigration, and the consequences of the Green Deal (!!!).
„How do you plan to compete with the U.S. or Chinese economies if we’re paying three times as much for energy?” Tusk asked rhetorically.

Not long ago, this same Donald Tusk was enthusiastically endorsing every leftist EU proposal, signing with both hands—and even his left foot. Until now, Donald Tusk seemed wholly molded by the EU, perfectly fitting the saying that he loved the Union as much as a man who adored his one-eyed wife, believing all other women had one eye too many.
But today, Tusk seems to have had some epiphany, as if his heart miraculously and inexplicably jumped to the right side of his chest (I’ll check Wikipedia later to see if that makes him a fascist!). Perhaps this signals Tusk has a wandering heart.
Let me try to explain something to Mr. Tusk (or perhaps Janusz Korwin-Mikke will), which perfectly encapsulates the condition and place of the EU—the same EU that Donald Tusk so passionately co-built alongside his comrades from the European People’s Party. He built it, and, well… you can’t undo that while in full stride. In my view, you can’t undo it at all.
Let’s revisit how economies function, as described by the former leader of the Real Politics Union:
- Maoism: I have three cows; the government takes them all, slaughters them, and distributes the meat equally.
- Communism: I have three cows; the government takes them to a collective farm, where they die.
- National Socialism: I have three cows; the government takes two and turns them into cannons.
- Fascism: I have three cows; the government sets a maximum price for milk and tags the cows to prevent me from eating them illegally.
- Socialism: I have three cows; the government forcibly takes the milk, which I can then buy in state stores with ration cards.
- Social Democracy: I have three cows; the government buys the milk and gives it away for free in schools, where children pour it down the sink.
- Welfare State: I have three cows; I have to sell one to cover veterinary bills and taxes on the remaining two.
- Euro-Socialism: I have three cows; the government orders me to kill one because there are too many cows—and the second because it emits gases that make the planet burn.
- Capitalism: I have three cows; I sell one and buy a bull!
Now let’s ask ourselves where the EU’s leftist elites have led us. Certainly not to capitalism, where the United States is currently heading. We’re somewhere between Euro-Socialism, a welfare state, and social democracy. It seems Tusk has finally realized that in the U.S. and globally, the herd of cows is growing, while the EU will end up without cows or milk but with the Green Deal and a hand stuck in the proverbial pot.
Tusk has come to understand that his previous madness—which he explicitly acknowledged—could sweep the leftist elites off the European game board. And that realization sparks fear and anxiety, not the conviction that Tusk’s political opponents were right and that he’ll now have to follow the PiS agenda.
If necessary (and let me assure our readers), Tusk will become more PiS-like than PiS itself. However, the leader of the Civic Platform is incapable of reversing the European economy, which is firmly speeding along the Green Deal tracks. Tusk doesn’t have the strength to switch the lever. For that, someone like Viktor Orbán or Giorgia Meloni is needed—leaders propelled to power by millions of Europeans who’ve just pulled their hands out of the pot.
